Worldbuild has no accounts, advertising trackers or email sign-up. Without your consent, the site sets no analytics cookies. If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 measures visits: the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link), and approximate device, browser and region information. We use this only to understand which articles help readers. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies and your choice
With your consent, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID to tell visits apart; by Google’s defaults they last up to two years. Your choice itself is stored in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, and we ask again after six months. Use “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of any page to change it. If you withdraw consent, the site stops loading analytics and deletes its analytics cookies on this domain.
Google and international transfers
Google Analytics is provided by Google, which processes the measurement data on our behalf and may do so on servers outside Turkey and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Event-level data is kept no longer than the retention period set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months. We also use Google Search Console to see how our pages appear in Google Search; it does not place cookies on this site.
Hosting and external links
Hosting infrastructure processes requests to deliver pages and may retain operational logs. Links to external websites, including products we mention, are governed by those sites’ own policies.
Your rights
You can ask what data about you is processed and request its correction or deletion, or object to processing, by writing to hello@worldbuild.org. Because analytics data is pseudonymous, tell us the approximate date of your visit. You can also prevent analytics entirely by rejecting the banner or using your browser’s privacy settings.
