For the worlds still taking shape.
Worldbuild.org is a publication about worldbuilding, fictional worlds, storytelling tools, and the craft of building believable imaginary places.
Curiosity is the starting point
We explore the questions behind a fictional world: how a place shapes its people, how a belief becomes an institution, and how a small rule can change an entire story. Our guides favor practical exercises and connected consequences over encyclopedic checklists.
How we cover tools
We recommend software by the task it helps with, describe documented features and real limitations, and keep both apart from our own editorial suggestions. Unless an article says otherwise, we have not run comparative hands-on tests.
